Robert A. Enholm is the Executive Vice President of Citizens for Global Solutions, a national membership organization founded in 1947 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., whose vision is to create a world in which nations work together to respond effectively to critical global issues. This broad vision embraces human rights, peace and security, arms control, climate change, and international development, all of which are best addressed through global cooperation and effective global institutions. Citizens for Global Solutions educates and advocates for positive U.S. leadership in global institutions addressing all of these issues.

In 2006 Mr. Enholm served at the United Nations as the founding Chief of the Central Emergency Response Fund Secretariat. The Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) is a $500 million emergency humanitarian relief fund established following the Indian Ocean tsunami and the South Asia earthquake. The CERF provides funding to jump start life-saving response both to sudden disasters and to what Secretary-General Kofi Annan called “neglected emergencies,” the humanitarian crises that never get sufficient world attention. During his tenure, the CERF provided grants to fund humanitarian response in almost 30 countries, including Sudan (Darfur), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Somalia, Timor Leste, Sri Lanka, and Haiti.

Mr. Enholm was the founding principal of Candle Spark Strategies, advising nonprofit organizations and institutions on the use of the emerging communication technologies to tell their stories and build their communities of stakeholders. During his 25-year corporate law career, Mr. Enholm regularly represented and served on the boards of directors of nonprofit organizations. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics and history from the University of California at Davis and a law degree from Berkeley.
